Organic Dill Seed – Whole Culinary & Herbal Spice | Anethum graveolens | Grown at LizzyLane Farm

Fragrant and full of heritage, this small-batch dill seed is grown and gathered right here on our New Hampshire farm. A kitchen favorite and traditional herbal ally.

Herbal Overview

With its warm, citrusy aroma and caraway-like bite, dill seed has long earned its place in both the spice jar and the herbal cabinet. A bright, bold seed perfect for pickles, soups, breads, and herbal tea, it brings a touch of sunshine to everything it’s added to.

What makes this batch especially meaningful is where it comes from, right here at LizzyLane Farm, grown just outside the garden gate in soil that's been loved for generations. The original seed stock was gifted over 20 years ago by a dear neighbor, and since then, it’s been lovingly saved season after season. We grow just enough for the kitchen and the shop—and when the seed is gone for the year, it’s gone.

Hand-harvested and dried on the farm, this dill seed carries more than flavor—it carries a thread of tradition, memory, and time well spent in the garden.

Herbal Profile

Botanical Name: Anethum graveolens
Plant Family: Apiaceae
Status: Certified Organic
Origin: LizzyLane Farm, New Hampshire
Caffeine Content: Naturally Caffeine-Free
Herbal Actions: Carminative, aromatic, digestive tonic
Suggested Preparations:
– Use whole in pickling blends and preserves
– Toast and grind for seasoning breads, soups, and dressings
– Steep as a digestive tea after meals
– Combine with fennel or coriander for traditional spice blends

Packaging Details

Packaged with the same care as our seeds are grown, each portion is sealed in a food-safe inner pouch, then wrapped in kraft paper, secured with a brass paper fastener, and tied with rustic twine.

This General Store Parcel Wrap style brings to mind old spice drawers and local seed exchanges. We recommend transferring to a small glass jar for best keeping.

Stillroom Notes

Dill seed is one of those quiet companions of summer. We plant it along the edges of the vegetable rows where it happily reseeds itself year after year. Every jar of pickles and every bowl of summer stew seems to call for just a pinch, so we gather, save, and share what we can.

Simple Recipe

Simple Dill Digestive Tea
– 1 tsp dill seed (lightly crushed)
– 1 cup hot water
– Optional: A few fennel seeds or mint leaves

Steep for 5–7 minutes. Strain and sip after meals for a calming, gently aromatic tea that supports digestion.

Suggested Pairings

Fennel Seed
Coriander
Nettle Leaf
Chamomile

$34.48 for 1 ounce packs of 6. Not worth it! Exorbitant prices!
Flavor Name: Herb Medley, Size: 1.1 Ounce (Count of 6)
$34.48 for 6 packs 1ounce each! That’s exorbitant for what it is. Not worth it!

Way too “lekker” tasty
Being from South Africa I’m skeptical on US made dried meat products - BUT these are the real thing. Difficult not to eat the entire pack in one session. Major discipline required to put it down. Great products.

Very satisfied!
Heard about Biltong from one of the youtubers I watch, and wanted to try it. This is delicious, much more so than your regular beef jerky. I have tried other brands, but this one is by far my favorite for the flavor and texture.

Quality biltong
Biltong is the beef jerky i grew up eating… so nothing else really compares. These people do a bang up job. Expensive but worth it as a treat or a gift for someone who likes quality jerky without all the extra preservatives.

Arrived opened/tampered
My pack arrived late AND was already opened. Considering this is food, I'm not sure if this is even safe to eat. A real shame since I was really looking forward to having some good biltong.
